PHOENIX–(BUSINESS WIRE) – The University of Phoenix Nursing Faculty is contributing to the Overseas Korean Nurses Association’s 6th General Assembly and Conference in Phoenix on October 22nd and 23rd. Sun Jones, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, serving as the director of the University of Phoenix’s Systematic Plan for Evaluation and Curriculum, is currently the President of the Overseas Korean Nurses Association.
“It is an honor to be president of this important gathering of nurses where we can appreciate our purpose, our unity, and take this opportunity to reflect, relax and rejuvenate together,” shares Dr. Jones with. “This is our first meeting since the beginning of Covid-19 and we look forward to reconnecting our colleagues and sharing a sense of community as Korean nurses from all over the US travel here to attend.”
Kathleen Winston, Dean of the University’s College of Nursing, will be keynote speaker on Saturday, October 23rd, “Nurses: The Original Superheroes”.
Raelene Brooks, Ph.D., RN, Assistant Dean of the College of Nursing, will speak on race and justice on the afternoon of October 23rd.
Dr. Jones will be the closing speaker for the event tonight.
The Overseas Korean Nurses Association (OKNA) was formed after a need was identified in 2011 to promote unity and networking among all foreign Korean nurses.
